About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership by approving long-term strategy and ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and impact goals.
Uphold fiduciary responsibilities by ensuring sound financial stewardship, reviewing financial reports, approving annual budgets, and safeguarding organizational assets.
Appoint, support, and evaluate the Managing Director, ensuring effective leadership and planning for leadership succession when necessary.
Ensure legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance, maintaining strong governance, policies, and risk oversight.
Monitor organizational performance and impact, reviewing progress against strategic priorities and key objectives.
Support fundraising, partnerships, and resource development to strengthen the organization’s sustainability and reach.
Act as ambassadors for the organization, championing its mission and reputation within the community.
Board Composition - We Seek Expertise In:
Retail operations and multi-site management/expansion (UAE/GCC)
Commercial real estate and site selection (UAE)
Accounting, finance, and audit
Governance, legal, and compliance
Volunteer management and community engagement
Marketing, partnerships, innovation
International development and charitable programs
Desired Qualifications:
Professional expertise in retail, finance, marketing, partnerships, or related field
Commitment to TFG's mission of sustainability and charitable giving
Leadership experience in business or nonprofit sector
Strong networks in UAE business or nonprofit community
Ability to think strategically and govern responsibly
Passion for fashion, sustainability, and social impact
Willingness to serve in unpaid volunteer capacity

Requirements
Time Commitment:
Attend 4 quarterly board meetings (3-4 hours each)
Optional: Serve on at least one volunteer committee (2-4 hours/month)
Participate in annual board retreat (full day)
Support organizational events and initiatives (flexible, ~10-20 hours/year)
Total estimated commitment: 40-60 hours annually
